At JMU, the time when you are allowed to register for classes is called your enrollment appointment. You will be able to enroll in classes beginning June 5. The exact time will be posted in MyMadison on May 28. Once your Enrollment Appointment opens, it will stay open through July 18 at 11:59 p.m. Plan to have your schedule finalized by June 7, because first-year students start their advising and enrollment process the follow- ing week. In order to be ready to enroll in classes, you should have communicated with your academic advisor about course suggestions and reviewed the six modules in the Prepare for Class Enrollment step to educate yourself about transfer credi t s , degree requirements and how to enroll in MyMadison. Reviewing your schedule After you finish enrolling, you can follow up with your advisor to review your schedule. Plan to attend Orien- tation enrolled in a fall schedule of 12-17 credit hours. The Transfer Advising Team will be on hand at Orien- tation to answer general questions though you should work with your assigned academic advisor about more specific, individualized questions prior to attending Orientation. Class enrollment begins on June 5!
As explained in the Prepare for Class Enrollment step, you’ll enroll in your classes in MyMadison. We recommend waiting to add courses to your shopping cart once your enrollment appointment opens. Putting a course in your shopping cart does not guarantee you a seat, and course availability will vary during your enrollment window. Make sure you complete all necessary enrollment steps and click “Finish Enrolling.”
