Most programs lead to a traditional four-year undergraduate degree, but students interested in secondary education and physical and health education also have the option of a five-year program culminating in a master’s degree.

Graduates who complete JMU’s programs designed to lead to licensure or certification will meet qualifications for initial licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Transfer Credit Report As you prepare for Transfer Orientation, you should review your Transfer Credit Report and your Academic Requirements Report in MyMadison. Knowing the courses you received credit for and the requirements those courses satisfy will assist you in conversations with your advisor.

Pre-Professional Programs Pre-professional programs (Pre-Law, Pre-Theology, Pre-Medicine, Pre-Physical Therapy, etc.) are not majors at JMU. Some are minors and some are sets of recom- mended courses. You will want to choose a major that
