University Health Center jmu.edu/healthcenter

Who provides medical care? Board certified physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and registered nurses. What medical services do you have? • General Medicine – appointments for medical concerns like fever, sore throat, upper respiratory illness, eye and ear problems, abdominal pain, chest pain and skin conditions • Urgent Care – minor fractures, stitches, sprains, UTIs and sudden allergic reactions • Other services – STD/STI testing, Women’s Health clinic, Allergy Clinic, International Travel consultation • Pharmacy – fills prescription medications written by medical providers on campus and some prescriptions written by off-campus medical providers. Also has over the counter medications at lower prices than most other places. Do you bill insurance? No, but there isn’t a charge for an office visit. If we charge, such as for a strep test, students pay at the time of their visit. Students may access their receipts through MyJMUChart to submit to insurance for reimbursement.
