Where can I learn about campus jobs? Students can go to either the Student Employment website or go to the JobLink system at joblink.jmu.edu. In this system, you can search the advertised student positions, both Federal Work Study and Institutional Employment, create a student application and begin submitting applications for the position of interest to them. Many students report that they find on campus positions through referrals from professors, resident advisers, friends, family members, etc. Students should definitely inquire with any of those contacts as well as directly contacting departments/offices that may be of interest to you. Where can I learn about off-campus jobs? Students can learn about part-time employment opportunities in the local area on the Student Employment website. Follow the directions specified on each individual job announcement that is of interest to you, review what is required to apply for the position and the preferred method for responding to the job announcement. Students may also want to refer to resources such as The Breeze, the classifieds posted in the local newspaper, The Daily News Record and online at dnronline.com
