Libraries lib.jmu.edu
The libraries provide comfortable and safe places to learn, collaborate and explore in four locations — Carrier Library, Rose Library, the Educational Technology and Media Center and the Music Library. The makerspaces in Carrier and Rose give students a chance to invent, craft and tinker with 3-D printers, virtual reality, sewing machines and more. Our knowledgeable staff and faculty are eager to help students find the collections, tools and resources they need for their academic and creative success. We are here to help, whether at a service desk, via online chat, in a workshop or by appointment. Carrier Library , with its old-world charm, provides cozy and comfortable study spaces, a makerspace and a café. Carrier features our collections related to the arts, humanities and social sciences and is located on the west side of campus. Rose Library , on east campus, provides sunny, open spaces for individual and collaborative study, a café, a makerspace, a 24-hour study area and a computer lab. It also holds our science, technology and health sciences collections. The Educational Technology Media Center prepares students to be knowledgeable users of educational technology. This library space in Memorial Hall is available to all members of the JMU community and primarily serves the College of Education and Professional and Continuing Education. The Music Library , in the basement of the Music Building on the quad, provides music resources to the JMU community and primarily serves the School of Music.
