Computer Security Computer crime is much more common and easier to perform than people realize. Keep your computer running well by using tips and security infor- mation from the Quick Start Guide. Should I bring my own computer/printer? Yes, you should bring a computer from home, as long as it meets minimum specifications and is set up securely. There are also more than 500 computers in labs available to all students, including two 24/7 labs and three assistive technology labs. The labs offer printing, as well as free access to a wide vari- ety of software to complete class assignments or conduct research. Windows or Mac? Visit JMU’s Computer Recommendations for Incoming Students to see which operating system and computer config- uration is best for your major.
