JMU JARGON
TDU is Taylor Down Under, a great place to hang out, play a board game with friends or study. UDAP is the Utility Deposit Assistance Program, a JMU-sponsored program in partnership with utility companies to allow students off-campus utility connections without paying various deposits. UHC is the University Health Center, where you can receive general medical services. UREC is the University Recreation Center, a facility designed to meet your fitness and adventure goals.
JACard is your JMU Access Card. LSS is Learning Success Strategies, an individualized academic coaching program available to all Dukes. OCL is the Off-Campus Life office that can assist you with finding off-campus housing and roommates. ODS is the Office of Disability Services, supporting students who need accommodations. OPAs are Orientation Peer Advisers who will assist you in your transition to JMU. SSC is the Student Success Center. This space is full of resources to help you be more efficient, effective and engaged learners with space to study, collaborate and learn.
CEVC is Community Engagement & Volunteer Center, which connects you to volunteer opportunities. Chips is a full-service convenience store located near the Bookstore. D-Hall is an all-you-care-to-eat dining facility, located near the Quad. Duke Dog Alley is a tunnel under I-81 that allows you to get from the west side of campus to UREC, Convo and east campus. E-Hall is the all-you-care-to-eat dining facility on the east side of campus. FLEX is a declining-balance account that you or your family can add money to.
