Parent Loans If you plan on borrowing a Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan you must also apply online at studentaid.gov. To meet federal loan requirements, parent borrowers must complete their Master Promissory Note for JMU. Grants
Follow these guidelines to be considered for financial aid: ◆ All students (and parents) are encouraged to review JMU Terms and Conditions of Financial Aid – Con- sumer Information at jmu.edu/financialaid for more information regarding financial aid and required dis- closures. ◆ Complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid online at studentaid.gov by the priority deadline of March 1. JMU’s Title IV Federal School Code is 003721. ◆ Notify the institution you are transferring from to cancel your financial aid since you will be applying for aid at JMU. ◆ Monitor your JMU email closely in case additional information is needed to complete the FASFA review. ◆ Accept or decline your Official Financial Aid Offer in MyMadison once you have received notice to your JMU email. Offers generally begin around the end of June and some may require additional documents to be submitted.
If you are eligible for Federal (Pell) or State Grants (Commonwealth or VGAP), this information will be listed on your Official Financial Aid Offer.
