Reviewing your schedule After you finish enrolling, you can follow up with your advisor to review your schedule. Plan to attend Orien- tation enrolled in a fall schedule of 12-17 credit hours. The JMU Next Transfer Advising Team will be on hand at Orientation to answer general questions though you should work with your assigned academic advisor about more specific, individualized questions prior to attending Orientation. Class enrollment begins on June 3!
You will be assigned an academic advisor in your major, who will reach out to you through your JMU email by May 27 to begin the advising process. Your advisor will check in with you about your goals, review your previ- ous coursework and help you determine which classes to take in your first semester here. If you have questions related to academic advising before May 27, email the JMU Next Transfer Advising Team. Enrolling in classes
Class enrollment takes place in MyMadison and the time you are allowed to enroll is called your enrollment appointment. Most enrollment appointments will be from June 3 through July 17. Enrollment reopens to all students on August 1. We recommend waiting to add courses to your shopping cart until your enrollment appointment opens. Putting a course in your shopping cart does not
guarantee you a seat, and course availability will vary during your enrollment appointment. Make sure you complete all necessary enrollment steps and click “Finish Enrolling.” We strongly encourage you to have your schedule finalized by June 5 so your enrollment is com- plete prior to first-year students starting their advising and enrollment process.
