Use this time to connect your phone to the JMU-Visitors wireless network by using orientation@jmu.edu as your username and 445539 as the password. 8:40 – 9:15 a.m. University Welcome Grafton-Stovall Theatre Campus administrators and faculty will officially welcome you to the JMU community by offering a special message to prepare you and your student for the JMU learning experience. 9:25 – 10:15 a.m. Academic Success Grafton-Stovall Theatre Learn about General Education, transfer credits and how to support your student academically. 10:25 – 11:20 a.m. Health and Well-Being Panel Grafton-Stovall Theatre Staff from the Counseling Center, Dean of Students, Disability Services and the University Health Center will provide an overview of their services and take questions from the audience. 11:20 – 11:50 a.m. Student Services Video Grafton-Stovall Theatre This informative video will feature information from various campus resources to assist your new Duke. 11:55 a.m. – 12:35 p.m. Lunch D-Hall Have your meal voucher ready for a delicious lunch! 12:40 – 1:30 p.m. Resource Fair Student Success Center Full of information from a variety of campus departments, this fair will showcase the support your student will have during their transition to JMU. 1:45 – 2:30 p.m. Student Q&A Panel Grafton-Stovall Theatre Don’t miss this exciting question and answer panel with our very own TOPAs! This is your opportunity to get the inside scoop on what it’s like to be a JMU student. 2:30 – 3 p.m. Preparing for the Transition Grafton-Stovall Theatre As an important part of the JMU community, we hope you will be actively involved in empowering your student to be successful. This session will provide you with information to foster that success. 3:15 – 5 p.m. Wrap Up the Day Student Success Center, First Floor Meet your student on the first floor of the Student Success Center. Our Orientation staff will be available to answer any final questions. Check out the back of this schedule for options to finish out your day with us.

If so, join us for an Open House in the new First Gen Student Center from 3 – 5 p.m. in Student Success Center 2170. Set up a campus banking account. Head to CommonWealth One on the second floor of The Union from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Browse the JMU Bookstore Visit the JMU Bookstore from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Get financial aid information. Visit Financial Aid on the 5 th floor of the Student Success Center from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Check out UREC. See what our campus recreation center has to offer from 1 – 6 p.m. Take a campus tour. Finish the day with a stroll around campus and tour a showroom in one of our residence halls. Tours will depart from the Student Success Center Atrium at 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. Questions about housing?
