◆ You are pursuing a program of study that leads to a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Business Administration degree that requires a foreign language (see the list on right); and ◆ You have previous experience with French, German, Italian, Russian or Spanish

* These programs provide the option to pursue either a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree. B.S. programs do not have language requirements, so you would not have to take the placement exam unless you wanted to continue your language studies at JMU.

Still not sure if you need to take the LPE? Take the questionnaire.

You are not allowed to use outside sources (including friends or family) on the exam. You may take the exam only once per language every three semesters. There is not a time limit, so please take your time!
