Once in Harrisonburg you are expected to be participate in Weeks of Welcome which will allow you to take advantage of programs and entertainment designed to introduce you to the Madison culture. Familiarize yourself with JMU’s academic expectations and campus resources, reconnect with your OPA and meet other JMU students. have safe and healthy experiences as they get involved on campus. Among other programs offered, all new students are required to attend a program during Weeks of Welcome where you will learn how things like hazing or hazardous drinking can occur, and how to respond if it does. Starting in August, you can preview the full Weeks of Welcome schedule including our signature events: Transfer Welcome, UREC Fest, Student Org. Night, Pep Rally, Block Party in the ‘Burg and more!
