We will conclude with an introduction of the Orientation Peer Advisers. 12:30 – 1:20 p.m. Your College Home We expect your student to make informed decisions about their academic career. Based on your student’s major, college leadership will share information about how to progress and be successful academically. 1:30 – 2:20 p.m. Academic Success Your student is about to begin an incredible learning experience. We will provide you with valuable information about the academic advising process, expectations and resources available to your student. 2:30 – 3:15 p.m. Health and Well-Being Panel Staff from the Counseling Center, Dean of Students, Disability Services and University Health Center will provide an overview of their services, guidance on how your student may utilize their services and take questions. 3:25 – 4:15 p.m. Student Q&A Panel and What’s Next Don’t miss this exciting question and answer panel with our OPAs! This is your opportunity to get the inside scoop on what it’s like to be a JMU student. To wrap up the day, Orientation staff will provide you details about the student experience to help you prepare for Move-in and Weeks of Welcome. 4:15 – 5 p.m. Campus Connections Use the last 45 minutes of the business day to reach out to any JMU department to get any individual questions answered! 5 p.m. Program Survey How’d we do today? Be sure to give us some feedback about your day so we can improve for future virtual programming.
